One of our most coveted ranges here at Urban Bar is our Calabrese Barware. Premium quality, contemporary design, and functional products, it’s not too hard to see why! We collaborated with legendary Salvatore “The Maestro” Calabrese to bring together these products, and now we want to share them with you.
Salvatore “The Maestro” Calabrese
Salvatore Calabrese hails from Italy, where his love of fine flavours and exquisite blends first bloomed. He began his journey into mixology whilst working at a bar in Maiori, Amalfi, before moving to Knightsbridge, London, to pursue the craft of blending cocktails. To celebrate the illustrious career that followed, we worked with Calabrese to put together this exclusive range of barware. Focused on blending the traditional with the contemporary and always ready to impress, we hope you enjoy learning about and using our Calabrese barware as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Calabrese Cocktail Shakers
The Calabrese range includes two cocktail shakers. The first is the sleekly designed 40cl Bullet Shaker, which is ideal for egg-white-based cocktails. With an in-built spring acting as a whisk, it’s an innovative way to make smooth and light drinks every time. The 90cl Calabrese Cocktail Shaker is a more traditional option that’s perfect for shaking your cocktails with ice. It also transforms into a Boston shaker when used with a shaker glass.
Calabrese Cocktail Strainers
The Hawthorne Strainer is a highlight of the Calabrese collection. Available in Stainless Steel and Copper, the fine mesh and easy-pour design allow for smooth cocktails. Both strainers are surface fitting, with a divot that maintains a grip between the strainer and the cocktail shaker. Simply hold over, pour, and enjoy!
Calabrese Bar Spoons
Bar spoons are an essential mixology tool, allowing you to mix your drinks from top to bottom in tall glasses, for a consistent blend of flavours. The Calabrese range features the Stainless Steel Bar Spoon, a high-end option in a European design. The flat head makes this ideal for crushing and bruising solid components to release their flavour, whilst the angled head makes it easier to lift and stir your drinks.
The premium Julep Spoon has a round head, also perfect for lightly bruising but more gently than the flat head. Both designs incorporate a twisted stem for layering drinks and lending a stylish look to your barware.
Calabrese Mixing Glasses
Pairing perfectly with the bar spoons are our Calabrese mixing glasses. Choose from a 60cl Footed Mixing Glass (also available in a 3 Cuts option) or an 86cl Tall Mixing Glass. The footed glass gives greater stability and grip when mixing and has a more old-school, sophisticated look. The tall glass is more minimal in design and allows for the mixing of more than one drink. Coax out the flavours of your ingredients with either of these high-quality glasses.
